Google Moves Towards a Secure Web

Google's number one priority is making sure that their users have a safe and enjoyable experience. In January 2017, Google Chrome will be marking pages with HTTP that either collect passwords or credit cards, insecure in order to help facilitate that priority. Currently, Chrome indicates sites with HTTP with a neutral indicator, but that doesn't mean that an HTTP site is secure just because you don't get a popup message. Over the years, many HTTP sites have transitioned to HTTPS and is consistently increasing. It is said that users tend to ignore warnings that come up too frequently, so Chrome plans to label HTTP sites more clearly and roll out their new change gradually.
